What is Sorca?

Sorca is a UK clinical AI scribe and thinking partner built for psychotherapists. It generates modality-aware progress notes in eight formats (SOAP, BIRP, DAP, FIRP, GIRP, PIE, BASE and group), drafts treatment plans and clinical letters, prepares the next session, and answers clinical questions grounded in the therapist's own client material under consent.

Which note formats does Sorca support?

Eight formats out of the box: SOAP, BIRP, DAP, FIRP, GIRP, PIE, BASE and a structured group-therapy format. Each is generated in the modality the clinician selects: CBT, IFS, ACT, schema, EMDR, psychodynamic, person-centred or Socratic. Therapists can also define and save their own templates.

Is audio recorded or stored?

Accepted Answer

No. Sorca transcribes the session in the clinician's browser via the Web Speech API. Audio never leaves the device and the transcript is discarded by the server as soon as the note is generated. The note itself is only persisted when the clinician explicitly saves it to a client record.

Is Sorca UK GDPR compliant and what is the data residency?

Yes. All clinical and personal data lives in Firebase Firestore EU (Frankfurt). We are ICO registered, support explicit opt-in consent for every client data point, and provide right-to-erasure on request. AI runs with zero data retention — your data never trains a model.

Yes. Sorca's clinical safety posture is aligned with BACP, UKCP and HCPC documentation standards. Supervision and CPD activity is logged in-app and exportable in the format each professional body requires for annual renewal.

Is there a free version for clients?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sorca Companion (at sorca.life/companion) is the free patient-side app — daily mood, PHQ-9 / GAD-7 tracking, coping anchors, the UK stepped-care map and 'Waiting Well' mode for clients on NHS Talking Therapies waiting lists. Companion Plus (£6 / month) adds homework journeys and Relapse Radar.
